His Plan

As I am reading through the Psalms lately, these verses have spoken to my heart ~

Psalm 37:23-24
If the Lord delights in a man's way, he makes his steps firm; though he stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with his hand.

Psalm 40:1-3
I waited patiently for the Lord; he turned to me and heard my cry.  He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand.  He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God.  Many will see and fear and put their trust in the Lord.

Psalm 40:7-8
Then I said, "Here I am, I have come - it is written about me in the scroll.  I desire to do your will, O my God; your law is within my heart."

Psalm 46:10
"Be still, and know that I am God'  I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth."

Learning to WAIT PATIENTLY, BE STILL and LISTEN for His voice.
When we are FOLLOWING His plan and calling ~ our feet will be FIRM!

Trust and Surrender?

I love it when God SPEAKS into my life from multiple sources - all with a similar 'message'.


We talked in our House Church last night about being focused on the Lord by staying in the Word and prayer.  Being 'transformed' by the renewing of our minds, and recognizing God's faithfulness in our lives.  Then this morning after my 2 mile run... talking to the Lord - letting go of all the things swirling in my head right now, and praying for discernment, peace and His clear direction for our family....I opened a small devotional book called "40 Days with Jesus - Celebrating His Presence" by Sarah Young, and here is what I read:

Let My love enfold you in the radiance of My Glory.  Sit still in the Light of My Presence, and receive My Peace.  These quiet moments with Me transcend time, accomplishing far more than you can imagine.  Bring Me the sacrifice of your time, and watch to see how abundantly I bless you and your loved ones.

Through the intimacy of our relationship, you are being transformed from the inside out.  As you keep your focus on Me, I form you into the one I desire you to be.  Your part is to yield to My creative work in you, neither resisting it nor trying to speed it up.  Enjoy the tempo of a God-breathed life by letting Me set the pace.  Hold My hand in childlike trust, and the way before you will open up step by step.

 "And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord's glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit."  2 Corinthians 3:18 

"Yet I am always with you; you hold me by my right hand.  You guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will take me into glory."  Psalm 73:23-24

WOW!  I still have chills... how much more specifically could He be talking DIRECTLY to me???  I LOVE that about Him!  I love that He chooses everyday, ordinary things like a simple devotional book laying on my kitchen counter to remind me that:
He knows every detail of MY life... 
He cares deeply... 
and He has a very specific plan and timetable...


All I have to do is remain in Him - spending TIME in His Word and talking with Him - and leave the PLAN and SCHEDULE up to HIM!

Romans 12:2 "Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.  Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is - his good, pleasing and perfect will."

That is called..... trust and surrender.
