Why GO?

As I sit here a 12 days from heading back to Kenya & Uganda....

I am processing many feelings and emotions.

WHAT is God calling me to DO?

WHY is He calling me to go AGAIN?

HOW does He want to USE me this time?

I just finished reading a book today that everyone 

needs to read.

Reckless Faith by Beth Guckenberger

This book has made me laugh, 

caused me to cry, 

but most importantly... 

has challenged me to step out of the boat!

21 Days and COUNTING....

I am beyond amazed

that I will be boarding a plane in 21 days...

heading back to Kenya and Uganda!

God has been moving mountains

and orchestrating the details 

of this trip all along.

I am humbled and honored 

that He has opened the doors

for me to lead a team 

to love on some

amazing kids!

As I am packing my bags to go,

I am asking you to consider

helping me to meet the specific requests

of several of the orphanages.

Here is the list of what I still need to collect:

lots of embroidery thread (for friendship bracelets)

a pair of electric hair clippers

cloth diapers

Tacky craft glue

pencils & sharpeners

children's pain reliever (chewable & liquid)

triple anti-biotic ointment

hydro-cortizone cream

One Purpose....

Just spent the day with more than 70 Team Leaders from Visiting Orphans.
My heart is SO full... I am struggling to put the day into words.


Here are a few that come to mind....

Humbled
In Awe
Grateful
Challenged
Excited
Tearful
Motivated
Honored
Like-minded
Called
He is definitely CALLING...


I am overwhelmed at being in His presence today in a room full of people with a similar list of words on their minds.  As we lifted our voices in praise and worship to our God, tears flowed.... "I will pray, in Jesus name and believe things will change.  For I know Jesus hears me when I pray, so I won't worry or be afraid.  I will pray, in Jesus name..." 


I could still see the faces of so many orphans in Kenya as they sang that song with us this past July.  Those words take on new meaning when you hear them from the lips of an orphan.  Many of them have been abandoned, abused and forgotten.  But they have a Heavenly Father... who has not abandoned them, abused them, and definitely NOT forgotten them.  He promises to defend them, to protect them, and to bless them.  


He calls US as His army to be His physical HANDS and FEET... to be His ARMS to hug and his VOICE to tell these children how MUCH they are LOVED!  When God places a similar passion in your heart, it is amazing how it knits you together.  People from across the United States, coming together to focus on His call to love, protect, care for, and visit the fatherless!  

There are SO many ways YOU can be involved.  He calls each of us.... He commands each of us to defend and care for the fatherless.  HOW will that play out in your life?  


GO.
BE.
LOVE.

Pray for the team I am leading to Kenya and Uganda in just 4 weeks. Pray for protection, favor and open hearts.  God is ordering our steps and preparing the way.  There are SO many children that just need to know they are LOVED.
