Africa, is waiting....

.... or at least some of it's CHILDREN are waiting anxiously for Bret to arrive. There are several of the older boys from the orphanage where Bret lived for a month last summer, who have been messaging him almost daily on Facebook... longing for his return.  Bret, and one of our EQUIP1 Ministries Board Members, Rob James are currently getting ready to take off from Dulles Airport in Washington, DC on the LONG trip to Uganda and then later on to Kenya.

God has been orchestrating the events of this trip... aligning the instruments and musicians to play out the music that only HE can direct.  We stand humbly, with our arms and hearts WIDE open to whatever it is that HE has for EQUIP1 and our family on the other side of the world.

This trip will include several stops at ministry partners on the ground in both Uganda & Kenya.  Feel free to tag along as I will chronical much of the trip here on our blog.  God gave both Bret and I a small gift this morning as HE gently reminded us that He CALLS each of us to "Live Like That."  You will understand what I mean if you scroll down (and turn off my music at the bottom of my blog) to my last post from December where we shared our video from last July's trip to Kenya... to Build HOPE and a PLAYGROUND for 200+ amazing orphans.  The first song that starts out that video is the EXACT song that started in our van this morning when we turned it on at 2:00am to head to the airport.  We both looked at each other in AWE of how God can use little things... like a song on the radio to speak into our lives... His LOVE, His TRUTH, and His FAITHFULNESS to the mission HE is CALLING US TO.  We are expecting great things.....

I just received word from Bret that they were able to move their seats to the BACK of the 'not-full' Ethiopian Airlines jet where there is GREAT potential that they will be able to SPREAD-OUT and get to LAY DOWN and SLEEP for the next 12 hours... or so.  For any of you who have previously made this trip... you KNOW how amazing this GIFT is!!

We are walking into this trip... Expecting the Unexpected!
Join us!!
