Week #2 - Day #2
The morning started with Emmanuel learning a little math on Liz's iPad.
Notching the tops of a few poles to hold the cross beams for the monkey bars.
This guy was pretty good free-handing his cuts with the circular saw.
Today's work.
Duncan got a couple girls to help him carry poles down to the field....
they giggled the whole time!
Parakeets always buzzing the work site - freaky eyes!
(seriously... those are REAL birds)
Taking down the support poles from yesterday.
... and more measuring.
Bret can handle the 10' poles... but says the 15' ones are a bit much!
What a view from the field where the playground is being built!
In America we pile up leaves to let the kids jump in... in Africa...
they use dry grass.
(Makes me itch just thinking about it!)
A pile of grass and a pile of old tires.... African Toys.
Duncan and Bret checking the alignment of the poles
before they cement them in.
Kickball with the kids.
Emmanuel - pitching!
You can see Nash in the middle with his Hawaiian 'work shirt' and boots!
Just 'hanging out' watching all the construction going on....
End of Day #2 - six more poles in the ground.
"God's gifts of grace come in many forms. Each of you has received a gift
in order to serve others. You should use it faithfully. If you speak,
you should do it like one speaking God's very words. If you serve,
you should do it with the strength God provides.
Then in all things God will be praised through Jesus Christ."
I Peter 4:10-11
